In 2005, a group of physician decided to adapt FOIA VistA® for use by their Clinics, Physician offices, and Hospitals to enhance administrative and clinical productivity. This effort resulted in the creation of a product designed for the use of healthcare providers in a rapidly changing clinical, technological and business environment. The product was named VistA++ and it was adopted for use by this captive group of physicians. KABOT Systems was formed in August 2009 with the purpose of enhancing the VistA++ product, achieving meaningful use certification, adding additional products and introducing the products and services to the physician community.

The EHR product is marketed under the label VistA++ Office Edition and encompasses Registration, Scheduling, Comprehensive Physician Notes templates and Billing. A new module labeled ‘KABOT Chemotherapy Manager’ has been developed and added to the VistA++ Office Edition product suite for Oncology practices

In addition to the ambulatory EHR and Practice Management product, Kabot Systems has also created several targeted products for the VA Hospital system. The KABOT team created the VistA Data Dictionary Browser and the Mumps Code Analyzer, now a part of the integrated product labeled as SenVis Studio. Additional products for the VA Hospital system are; Mynapin Enterprise, the VA employee access and rights management system and PharmaKomply, an inspection & documentation management system for medication storage areas that fulfils the JCOAH requirements. In December 2008 Mynapin was installed at an Ann Arbor MI, VA facility.

The development of the VistA++ Enterprise Edition product suite for Hospitals began at the end of 2010 and is expected to be launched by end of 2011
